Smooth Skin by Lynn - ...Changing Lives One Hair At A Time.

Unwanted hair is a problem that can cause embarrassment, totally altering the way some people feel about themselves and conduct their everyday life.

Conventional methods of hair removal are only temporary fixes that can be extremely time consuming & expensive. The most commonly used conventional methods are: dipilitories, threading, waxing, plucking and shaving. The hair soon returns and the removal process becomes a routine. Unfortunately for many, these methods actually make the problem worse & can often cause long term side effects.

If you shave, pluck, thread, wax, use depilitories or any other temporary method of hair removal - you have unwanted hair!

THERE IS A PERMANENT SOLUTION - ELECTROLYSIS.

How it works

  1. A very fine sterile probe is gently inserted into the follicle alongside the hair shaft. The insertion is not usually noticed because the hair follicle will easily expand allowing the probe to gently slide inside.
  2. A slight pulse of electrical current is then applied. The current destroys the hair root,  germination cells and cauterizes the blood supply to the hair.
  3. The hair is then extracted from the treated follicle.

Once the follicle is totally destroyed, it is impossible for it to produce another hair!

Electrologists use an extremely minute amount of electrical current to permanently remove unwanted hair.

What to expect

Insertion: For most people, the insertion of the probe causes very little discomfort. The probe is only as big in diameter as the hair itself and is inserted into the follicle alongside the hair shaft. Because the follicle is a natural opening, the skin is not punctured or harmed in any way.

Current: The treatment consists of loosening the hair by applying galvanic and high-frequency currents, destroying the hair root. The destruction of the hair producing elements (germination cells) and the hair's source of nourishment (blood supply) render the follicles incapable of reproducing hair. When the current is applied, often the sensation of heat is felt by the client. Each person has their own sensitivity level.

Topical anestetics can be used to help desensitize the treatment area. For best results, I recommend purchasing a 5% lidocaine cream/gel and applying it liberally to the treatment area 30 minutes prior to treatment.

Extraction: The treated hair is then removed from the follicle. New hair should easily slide out without resistance, and is often not noticed. The older the hair, the more resistance. Older hairs tend to "tug" and the extraction is often felt by the client, especially in sensitive areas.

Often, repeated treatments are necessary to achieve permanency. However, hair that does return is thinner and less resilient.

Humans have 500 to 1000 hair follicles per square centimeter. Some of these follicles are dormant and could grow hair at a later date due to hormone changes, certain medications, and stress levels which may stimulate or activate previously dormant follicles.

Note: Every electrolysis treatment will provide results.

All probes & forceps used in this practice are sterilized. A brand new, pre-packaged probe is used with each client. All surfaces are cleaned with a hospital/medical grade cleanser/sanitizer.
